Areas of Mallorca: property guides

Mallorca is a varied island: a lively capital, harbour towns, mountain villages, long sandy bays and quiet rural areas. These guides describe the main areas where people look for property, the type of homes you will find in each one and what to check before you buy or sell. They do not list properties for sale: they are here to help you choose where to look and what to watch out for.

South-west

The south-west coast, between Palma and Andratx, combines marinas, sandy bays and hillside villas, with fast access to Palma along the Ma-1.

Palma

The capital offers the widest choice of homes, from historic apartments to villas in the hills.

North

The north of the island is known for its wide bays, long beaches and historic towns.

East

The east and south-east coast is a coastline of coves, small harbours and sandstone towns.

Serra de Tramuntana

The mountain range on the north-west coast is a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape of stone villages, valleys and terraced hillsides.
